The number of people (adults and children) in the United States with diabetes is approximately 20 million. Out of that 20 million, 6.2 million go undiagnosed. In addition, 54 million adults and children in the U.S. have what is is called “pre-diabetes”.The number of individuals with diabetes is on the rise, and most troubling is that the number of young children developing diabetes related to childhood obesity has also risen. Diet for Patients with Hypertension:
Hypertension affects approximately 50 million people in the United States. Many individuals are unaware that they have hypertension. Hypertension is elevated blood pressure. A normal blood pressure is considered below 120/80 mmHg. Pre-hypertension is a blood pressure between 120/80mmHg and 140/90 mmHg. Hypertension is when the blood pressure is at or above 140/90mmHg. Exercise:
For the average healthy adult to maintain a healthy weight and reduce risk factors for heart disease they must do moderately intense cardiovascular exercise for 30 minutes a day, five days a week.
